Greens MP for Melbourne Adam Bandt has welcomed today's joint announcement outlining the work and composition of the new federal climate change committee saying the voters of Melbourne made the committee possible.
"This announcement has restarted climate action in Australia", Adam Bandt said today.
"Voters in Melbourne should be proud of this achievement because they made it possible."
"Without the shift to the Greens in Melbourne and our strong vote in the Senate we would not have had the negotiations that led to the formation of this committee and we would not have got the ball rolling again on climate change action."
"I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in the Parliament in developing a plan to put a price-tag on pollution."
