Tony Abbott should respond to his Treasurer's and Ministers' recent comments by rearranging his front bench and using the opportunity to ditch unfair Budget measures, said Acting Greens Leader, Adam Bandt.

"Tony Abbott's senior Ministers have broken the golden rule of Liberal party politics. They've stopped spouting three word slogans and told us what they really think, exposing that they don't share modern Australian values," said Mr Bandt.

Tony Abbott needs to sub Joe Hockey off the field if he wants to make any headway with his Budget, Acting Greens Leader Adam Bandt said today.

"A man has been killed while in our care. We should be debating why this happened and how we can stop it happening again, not wasting time in another Liberal/Labor tit-for-tat."

Adam Bandt 14 Aug 2013

“We have always said we intended to hold the seat in our own right and with a small swing we can do it,” Mr Bandt said.

“Labor and Tony Abbott need to come clean on what deals have been done for the Liberals to preference Labor.”

“Kevin Rudd needs to outline what Labor will do for the Liberals in return.  For example, will Labor be preferencing the Liberals in Mallee as some reports have suggested.”
